"Momentum
2004" and "Leading Edge" Youth Events
Coming Soon
Michigan Family Forum is sponsoring two special youth events during the month of June. The gatherings are designed to help teens promote the abstinence message to their peers.
"Leading Edge" is a special training event for established "peer groups" who are seeking additional information on how to promote abstinence in their schools. The event will take place June 16-18 on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing. The fee for this event is a nominal $10 per student and includes lodging and meals.
"Momentum" is an opportunity for youth groups and other youth organizations to come together for an inspirational evening of teaching and music. Miss America 2003, Erika Harold and Kyle Warmington will speak at this event. Christian music artists Wayburn Dean and "Crisi" will provide music. This event will take place on Friday, June 18, 7:00-9:00pm at Ada Bible Church near Grand Rapids. There is no charge. The event is open to all teens. Groups are encouraged to call the MFF office to register in advance.

"Protect
Marriage Yes" Petition Needs Your Help
Michigan Family Forum’s office has been deluged with calls this week by people requesting petitions for the Michigan Marriage Amendment (MMA). Time is running short, as only four weeks remain until the signatures must be submitted.
Focus on the Family sent a petition to nearly 100,000 Michigan addresses on their mailing list last week. This important push will help secure the needed signatures before the deadline.
Coordinators in all of Michigan’s 83 counties have information on how to obtain petitions. If you are interested in participating, click here to find out how to contact your county coordinator to obtain petitions. Petitions may also be requested from MFF’s office. Contact us at (517) 374-1171 or
info@michiganfamily.org to request them.

Most
Americans Lack Long-Term Care (LTC) Coverage
More than eight out of every 10 Americans over the age of 45 are uninsured against the rising costs of long-term care services.
These people do not have either public or private long-term care insurance coverage, according to the second annual Index of Long-Term Care Uninsured released yesterday. The index is based on a concept developed by long-term care policy expert John Cutler, with research analysis conducted by Dr. Marc Cohn, president of LifePlans Inc.
