Michigan Primary Results

Voters in Michigan took to the polls on August 3 to select candidates for the general election in November. Several local issues were also decided.

Perhaps the most competitive race was the "open" 7th Congressional district where former state Senator and gubernatorial candidate John "Joe" Schwarz of Battle Creek emerged as the Republican nominee from a field of seven candidates.

Missouri Voters Approve Marriage Protection Amendment

On Tuesday, Missouri became the first state in 2004 to approve a state constitutional amendment in defense of marriage. Clearly the voters of the "Show-Me State" believe in traditional marriage, as the final tally was 71-percent for and only 29-percent against.

Political pundits are starting to wake up to the fact that most Americans are opposed to homosexual marriage. Most are now speculating that Americans oppose same-sex marriage by a 2-1 margin. Missouri voters certainly validated this level of opposition.

Fatherhood Quote

"Over the last generation popular culture has devalued the family and the role of fathers in the lives of their children. Fatherless homes have become a national epidemic and our nation has paid a high price."
-President George W. Bush

Ohio Citizens Turn in Petitions to Protect Marriage

Ohio citizens spoke out in defense of traditional marriage this week as they submitted more than 400,000 petition signatures for a constitutional amendment to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Ohio joins six other states, including Michigan, where voters will decide the fate of proposed constitutional amendments in November.
