MFF Publication – "What Every Child Needs" Now Available
Michigan Family Forum (MFF) is pleased to announce the release of our latest publication, "What Every Child Needs." Dan Jarvis, Director of Research and Public Policy, authored the report. Rebecca Austen, a law student serving MFF this summer through Alliance Defense Fund’s (ADF) Blackstone Fellowship program, conducted much of the initial research.
"What Every Child Needs" explores the unique contributions that both a father and a mother make in the life of a child. The report examines a wide body of social research leading to the conclusion that children are best served when both parents play an active role in their lives.

Continue to Show Support for Proposal 2
Michigan is one of eleven states that will vote on the definition of marriage on November 2. Recent polls indicate that the proposed constitutional amendments are expected to pass in all eleven states! However, opposition groups here in Michigan are stepping up efforts to defeat Proposal 2. Voter turnout will be crucial to the passage of this amendment.
Citizens for the Protection of Marriage (CPM) needs your help in these last few crucial days to help spread the word. If you are interested in helping out as a volunteer,

Executive Director Brad Snavely recently interviewed with the Washington Times regarding Proposal 2. The Times article discussed the marriage amendments up for a vote in eleven states on November 2. The article also questioned what impact, if any, the amendment votes would have on the very tight presidential race.

Supports Proposal 1 to "Let Voter’s Decide" on Gambling Expansion
Michigan Family Forum recommends a "yes" vote on Proposal 1. If passed, Proposal 1 would require a vote of the people to approve any future expansion of gambling in the state. Indian casinos (regulated by the federal government) and the existing Detroit casinos would not be affected.
"Research and common sense both acknowledge that gambling has a detrimental impact on families and communities," said MFF Executive Director Brad Snavely. "Proposal 1 makes sense, because it allows the voters to decide whether they want to expand gambling in their community."
Opponents, including the governor, have attempted to say that passage of Proposal 1 would cut funding for schools. These claims are misleading because the lottery, in its current form, would not be impacted by passage of Proposal 1. For more information,

Don’t
Forget to Vote on Tuesday
America’s democratic process will be on display for the world to see this coming Tuesday. Rarely in history have so many important issues been on the line in a single election. Rarely have so many individuals both here and abroad faced the possibility of being impacted by a single election.
Michigan Family Forum encourages all Forum Online to exercise the right to vote on November 2. See you at the polls! For information on ballots, precincts, and other voter information,
